I'm about as good at blogging as I am at running a business.
Two months later, we have a draft of a Christmas card. Is the scan pretty rough and the colors needing massive adjustments? Maybe. Is the border uneven? Maybe. Will we print it up? Maybe. Will we toss it? Maybe. Are we unsure if our Czech words truly say "Merry Christmas?" Maybe.

ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous art! The spelling for Merry Christmas should be Vesely Vanoce. Your accents are correct, but I don't know how to write in Czech on the computer. The h should be removed from vanoce, and vesely is spelled with a y in my dictionary, though adjective endings change for various reasons. My Czech husband could answer you better, but he's not here. My 16 year old son who speaks, but doesn't write, perfect Czech looked at this with me. Thanks for sharing! Dobrou Noc! Susan - Zuzanka (Kirsten's friend)
ReplyDeletePS: Older son says that vesele and vesely are both correct. One is formal, the other informal, he forgets which is which. Zase ahoj, susan

ReplyDeleteCzech husband says it should be spelled vesele, not a y, have nothing to do with formality. e is for the plural of days of something he doesn't know. All I know about Czech is that it is not easy. Best, susan
